TECHNOLOGY DEPARTMENT
Technology literacy is vital to the success of our children and that technology must be used to improve and expand instruction. We consider technology literacy to be one of the key 21st century skills, in fact, our interpretation of teaching in the 21st century means starting off with basic literacy and moving on to visual literacy, technology literacy, information literacy, financial literacy, problem solving and higher order thinking skills, self-direction, and cultural and global awareness. As our department motto suggests, we want to provide students with access to information from a variety of online and offline sources, teach students to analyze information by asking meaningful questions, which help them guide their own learning, and model evaluation and communication techniques, which help students to be able to use technological means to organize, evaluate and communicate the data they find.

Announcements  MS Office 2010 for Employees (Work from home rights)MCPS faculty and staff members can purchase "work at home rights" to Microsoft Office Professional Plus 2010 (PC or Mac). This is as a result of our district agreement with Microsoft & Software House International (SHI) and gives MCPS employees the opportunity to lease the latest version of Microsoft Office Professional Plus 2010 for use at home to complete school related work. Office Professional Plus includes the 2010 version of the following: Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, Access, InfoPath, Publisher, Onenote, Sharepoint and Lync.
The cost of the MS Office Professional Plus (PC or Mac) media disc, from SHI, is $10. By acquiring the rights to the software, you agree to the following:

Please be sure to include your name and school when placing your order.
